I sighed lightly against his chest. My fingers traced his back. He was like my satellite; we moved together, always finding a way to get closer. I wrapped my arm around his shoulder and cradled his head, kissing his neck. “Do you love me?” I asked.

He groaned and looked at me. That look. It was half awe, half exasperation. “How many times do I have to tell you?” He laughed quietly, and kissed me, almost forcefully.

“Yes.”

Another kiss, forceful again.

“Yes.”

Another kiss, soft and urgent.

“Yes.”

Another kiss, softer than the last.

“Yes.”

He continued, and seven times he kissed me and seven times he said yes. I smiled into his body. “Do you love me?” he asked. I rolled over, on top of him, and held his face in my hands. I kissed him lightly, gently, bent my head down to his ear, and whispered:

“Yes.”
